New project in sea transport and inland water routes

We are pleased to inform that last week we signed a contract with the Ministry of Infrastructure for implementation of an evaluation research titled: 'Analysis of the most important problems in projects of sea transport and inland water routes implemented under measures 7.2 and 7.5 IEOP'.
The main research issue is to identify and diagnose current problems in implementation of projects, and the risk of potencial obstacles appearing in the future. The main role will be played by issues connected with: technical specification of projects, the public procurement law, environmental protection, and assessment of undertakings' environmental influence, together with provision of financing.
The research will firstly allow to assess real possibilities to implement project activities planned in the reference framework, indicate potential difficulties, and define their influence on implementation of an investment. On that basis we will develop recommendations regarding reparatory and preventive actions. We will prepare a 'good practice catalogue' aimed at showing the beneficiaries and institutions engaged in implementing these tasks what are the examples for efficient implementation of such investments and ways to counteract the occuring difficulties. The last step of the research will be to indicate further investment needs in terms of sea and inland transport in the coming programming period of 2014-2020.
The project will include interviews with all beneficiaries of measures 7.2 and 7.5 IEOP and representatives from institutions engaged in implementing these measures.
Planned date for completing the project - end of November 2011.
