Monitoring and evaluation are basic techniqeues which allow us to answer whether actions which we undertake are correctly directed or whether they bring planned changes.

Monitoring and evaluation are key elements of the project management cycle. They are used to increase the quality of management and realisation of activities as well as making design more efficient in the future. Services in monitoring and evaluation can concern many levels: individual projects, programmes or wehole policies in a given sector. Tasks in monitoring and evaluations are an important step in realisation of many projects within pre-accession programmes or Structural Funds, especially in the initial phase of their implementation. Such evaluations show social and economic gains from Structural Funds in Poland and allow to formulate instructions concerining their modification in orderr to fulfil regional needs better.

If correctly run evaluation and monitoring allows to assess if the programme or project is adeqeuate to an identified problem, or helps to localise possible problems or difficulties in realisation of tasks and allows to correct them. Morover they help in preparing further programmes and initiatives and are often a basis for further evaluations.


Trainings in Evaluation

In the view of the 2007-2013 Structural Funds programming period ECORYS has developed offer of trainings aimed at broadening and consolidation of knowledge of participants on what evaluation is, how it should be programmed and conducted, as well as (in case of evaluation services clients) what standards and requirements should be applied when it comes to cooperation with contractors.
