Block Grant of Swiss-Polish Co-operation Programme
Scope of the project
The Block Grant is a special financial instrument set under the Swiss-Polish Co-operation Programme. This Programme, named Swiss Funds, is a part of non-returnable financial aid for the enlarged European Union. Beneficiary states include Poland and 11 other EU member states which joined Europe between 2004-2007. Switzerland's support is a sign of solidarity with new member states of the EU, and sets ground for solid economic and political connections with these countries.
Within the Block Grant 2 funds were created: the Non-Governmental Organisations Fund, and the Partnership Fund
The main objective of the Non-Governmental Organisations Fund is support development of civic society in Poland which is based on citizens, who are aware of their rights and obligations, who are commited for common good and feel responsible not only for themselves, but also for the community where they live. Support from Priority 1 Promoting the role of civil society as an important participant in increasing the socio-economic cohesion of the country will be awarded for projects of NGOs directed at increasing active participation of citizens in public life.
Role of the Partnership Fund is to promote and reinforce partnerships between Polish and Swiss local and regional authorities or institutions and social partners, as well as to reinforce co-operation between Polish and Swiss local and regional authorities, institutions and social partners with Polish NGOs in order to increase their role in the process of making decisions for the region or sub-region.
Services:
We are the Intermediary of the Block Grant and we act in partnership with the Association of RP Communes Euroregion Baltic. Our tasks include preparing project selection criteria, procedures for awarding grants, instructions connected with reporting and planning activities for correct allocation of grants among eligible subjects.
Project budget: 18,5 million Swiss franc.
